accessibility & site plan

The Idris and co site has been designed to give maximum accessibility and usability, in line with best practice guidelines issued by the World Wide Web consortium (W3C) and Disability Discrimination Law. This accessible approach is particularly beneficial to people using alternative technologies, either as a result of a disability (such as the visually impaired) or those using WAP enabled mobile phones or other methods of accessing the internet.

The size of the text on the site can be altered to a viewer's requirements using the browser's functions (e.g. "View" > "Text Size" in Microsoft Internet Explorer, or "View" > "Text size" in Firefox) to improve readability, and is not dependent upon colour to indicate content, so as not to inhibit colour blind users.

The menu used on this site has been carefully designed to be both useable in graphical browsers and still be fully accessible for text-only browsers and screen readers. Unlike many websites we have purposely kept the use of images to a minimum.
